5 Craft Supplies I am Crushing On Right Now

following on from this post in March, I thought I would share

my latest crushes in craft supplies and are on my "soon to buy list"

1 Skull Profile Stencil

ok so I know I was crushing on another lot of skull

stencils before, but me likey this one much more. The outline

on the left hand side of his face almost looks like a horse. I love it!

2. Liquitex Paint Markers

and squeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaal they are on

special at Dick Blick at the moment!

3. Masterson Fresh Water Rinse Well

Here's what the spiel says about this awesome invention - 

"Keep fresh water at your fingertips without multiple rinse containers 

or inconvenient trips to the sink!"

Cause when I'm in the thick of it, I so cannot be bothered

walking the 15 steps to the sink to keep changing my 

water!!  haha

4. Pilot Precise Pens

who doesn't love a good pen right? and especially

when they come in such pretty colours

5. Coloured Masking Tape

I use masking tape all the time for straight lines

and for making my spines sturdier in my journals.
But who knew that there was such an array of 

colours!

which is Portuguese for Female Flower. 

and I thought was the perfect name for

my latest painting.

Special Memories Saturday

Happy Mother's Day!!

to all the mum's, mom's, mother's, mummie's out there for Sunday.

 I know I'm a day early, but I plan on doing very little tomorrow, 

other than eating a special breakky and painting.

In honour of my own Mum and also my Nana (who is no longer with us), 

this is a Special Memories Saturday, where I want to share some absolutely 

gorgeous photo's of them both.

We have lost these two wonderful men 

from our lives. Both taken way too young.

My Nana Eileen and her husband William.

How beautiful was she. I used to love hearing

her stories of when she was young

and used to sneak out of the window to go 

dancing with boys.

I truly miss her every single day.

Ten Ways to Be More Creative in Your Daily Life

Here's 10 Ways that I have come up with, to incorporate more 

creativity into my daily life. I hope that something from this list

might also inspire you to make more time to be creative.

1) Chalk board Pot's for my herbs - loving the simplicity

 and ease of this Blackboard film. It will  now be

 added to my list of  Craft Supplies I am crushing on 

2) Teach myself to knit

3) Doodle in my journal at least once a week.

4) Try a new recipe that I have found on Pinterest 

every week and take a photo. 

At the end of the year make my own family 

favourite's cookbook!

5) Write a short poem in bed before going to sleep. 

6) Make my own gift wrapping paper.

7) Learn how to make soap and give it to family and friends as gifts.

8) Sign up for #100 Happy Days

9) Improve my jewellery making skills.

10) Decorate stones and leave them around for people to find.

No time to paint and I want a tattoo!

Well we have quickly settled back into the day to day after our fabulous holiday - can I hear an Uggggggggggghhh,  and with work being at it's busiest, I have not had time to paint. 

So I've channelled my creativity into another area. Using some of my backgrounds

and a great free online editing program I've been doing up some fun

motivational posters.

Here's my latest

This quote sings out to me at the moment, because I really want to get a tattoo.

My passion is my family and art and I really

would love it to incorporate both. 

But there are four reasons why I haven't  yet -

 1) I'm a big ole chicken and don't like pain

2) Can't settle on exactly the design I want

3) what if I dont like whatever I get inked

in a years time and regret it, or worse still want 

to have it removed, which I believe is more painful

than the application part!

4) Will it look ridiculous on me??

So dear reader, if you happen to stumble across

a great design or words that you feel would 

fit with what I am after (I have done loads of research on 

Pinterest) but that just makes me even more

confused, or you have some words of 

wisdom about tattoo's... I am all ears.

After the Shotover. We loved it so much that we

did it twice.

We didn't meet the Duke and Duchess, they were a week

or so before us, but we did see some photo's on the wall of fame.

New Zealand is not called the "land of the long white cloud" for nothing

and lastly off road Quad biking in Franz Josef. LOADS of fun!

Leaving on a Jet Plane

in a few days, I will be heading to this great 

country for a holiday with my family. 

First we hit Christchurch and 

then do a tour of the

South Island of New Zealand.

To say I'm excited is an understatement.

So it will be a little quiet around these

parts for about 2 weeks.

Hope to share a few happy snaps 

when we get back.

Autumn Dayz - From Start to Finish

For those who aren't aware, I live in the 

Pilbara - Western Australia.

Our weather here is a little different to the rest 

of Western Australia. Our summers are extremely hot 

and dry and our winters are more like

spring weather. 

So currently in the Pilbara we are in 

the season of Autumn. However when I think of 

colours that relate to Autumn in the Pilbara,

I don't think of oranges and browns with 

a hint of green. I think more along the line of different

 shades of reds, with maybe a little hint of orange and green. 

Here is my version of a windy day in the Pilbara in Autumn.

Then I brayered on some white paint

 a layer of Gel Medium

and stained it red
