Taking a small break

I am taking a small break from painting at the moment (to give my wrist a bit of much needed TLC), but it's hard to not still do something!! So I've been working on my 2013 goals in my journal. Would love to know if anyone else has a journal and if they write down their goals.

The picture on the left was drawn with pencil, while on a plane ride (to somewhere - can't remember) in Oct last year, so I've just cut and glued it into my journal.
I have been writing down goals for about 3+ years now, but I used to just write them down in the back of my diary. This year I thought why not pretty those goals up.
I find that writing goals down is very powerful.
I try to make the goals very specific and small.. (ie small steps to a bigger picture).
Please leave a comment and a link to what you do with your goals.

My Version of Madame Pompadour

My version or modern take an Madame Pompadour.
I think that I will do another painting of her in the future,
but next time put some crazy things in her hair, like birds or even a bird house.
By the time I took this photo, all natural light had gone, so this photo does not
do the true colours justice.

Also this painting along with other such goodies as $750 worth of Hasbro Toys, a Chris Martin Live Art Piece (that he will be painting during the ball), 6 month membership to WA Institute of Martial Art and loads more - will be available to bid on at the HeartKids Foundation Ball Auction on 9th March. So if you are interested in purchasing this painting or any of these other magnificent goodies, please visit this link http://heartkidswa.org.au/the-2013-heartkids-wa-annual-ball/ or like their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/#!/HeartKidsWAAnnualBall

and for any Doctor Who fans out there - this famous quote -
"I'm the Doctor, and I just snogged Madame de Pompadour!"

Amber

My latest painting titled - Amber
She is 20 inches x 24 inches
She went through a few changes before this being the end result.
I just struggled and struggled with her. and then finally I followed this advice -
I shut my eyes in order to see.” Paul Gauguin - Painter
and finally she turned out how I wanted her to look.

A close up of Amber - lovin those freckles, even if I do say so myself :-)

And from another angle (photo taken on my back lawn :-))

Again thank you for taking the time to visit my blog
