Yay the Eagles!

What a cracker of a game! To win by 1 point!! I must admit to not sitting and watching the full game, but instead caught glimpses of it, in between my domestic duties. But I sat and watched the last 15 minutes and it was very exciting. I watched them win the last Grand Final in 1994 (sitting in a pub with my friends in Esperance) and it seems like many many moons ago. Only then John Worsfold (left in picture) was actually playing for them. Now he's the coach and what a magnificent job he has done with the team. I am in awe of this man and still have a little wee crush on him.

Wonderful Art Day

A fantastic ART day today.

A couple of us girls, Ann Gerlach, Carmel Trigwell and myself, wandered over to Sulea Lee's house today, for some serious painting time. Sulea showed us how she assembles and puts together her fantastic collages. I was in AWE! I have also never been to Sulea's, so I loved having a close look at all her Stampscape work and other collages, up close and personal. I was gob smacked!

And of course I sat next to the equally talented Carmel (hiccup) Trigwell, who also amazes me with her talent. These girls can draw, and as I am not even capable of drawing a decent flower, this just blows me away.........

The attached collage, was a parting gift from Sulea. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this Sulea and thank you so much. I truly feel blessed to know you. I am going to work on a return piece for you. It may take a while, but we'll get there!

Ann also did really well. She had her baby - Giles there and she managed to get more done in between feeds and trying to get him to sleep, than I did without any of those disruptions!

Girls, at some stage I need to get some serious lessons on drawing. Especially hands, as I like to chop those off on my collages as you know - *big winks*.

Big hugs to everyone and I hope you had a fantastic weekend. I did! My hubby is home. What more can a girl ask for. Chocolate I suppose, but I've had plenty of that too this weekend.

Industria Maybe??

Meet Gus and Nellie! I am currently in an ATC swap that is titled Industria or metallic. Industria is the new "thing" from Julie Van Oosten (aka Collections stamps/products). You can see her link here http://nirvanaelements.blogspot.com/ and I have changed my colours to bronze paint and green ink pad, instead of Silver paint and frayed burlap (brown). However I dont think I'm all that happy with this ATC and so not sure if it'll be my finished product. If anyone has any hints/tips to what else I can add, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit low on mojo at the moment. We're in the process of getting our house ready to sell and I've been cleaning and de-cluttering all weekend and am drained now mid week. Hope everyone else is finding some energy to create! Natxx

Yes I am a fan of the West Coast Eagles Football Club and especially of their hunky coach John Worsfold... I had a major crush on him many moons ago, before DH and bubs came along. We're talking the 80's here. He's still pretty hunky though, even if I do say so myself.

First Ever Sports Carnival

My DD (6.5yrs) had her firt ever sports carnival today and I'm not sure who had the most fun. It's a toss up between Emma, Luc (her brother who was playing dinosaurs with 2 other little boys) or me, watching her! Here she's proudly showing off her ribbons.

To me, it's all about the fun they have on the day. And Em had loads of it. The only thing she complained about, was that it was SCORCHING hot. At 27 degrees I thought it was a gorgeous day, but then again, I wasn't running around like a maniac, but instead was sitting under the shade of a tree, sipping my cold drink!!LOL Emma really enjoyed the team spirit and next year, I must make a note to myself to remember the coloured hair spray. it was sprung on me at 8.25am (we left at 8.30), that the hair spray is very important and also the coloured zinc cream (comes in different colours which I had no idea about), streamers and other things we learned are necessary for the team to win.

A wonderful day and makes you feel blessed to have healthy and happy children.

Noir

ok after much playing about, this is my finished product, for the black fat book page swap I'm in. We have as a group been working on the rainbow colour scheme and then finishing up with black then white.

Monochrome

Here is an entry I did recently for a Monochrome ATC swap. I do love the challenge of monochrome, as it's just that for me - A CHALLENGE!! Currently I'm working on the colour black and originally I thought this would be easy, as I use black a lot. But it has proved to be a little difficult.

Dolly's Galore!

Wow what a fun day we had at Kelsey's Doll Demo Day yesterday. Such fun girls in the class, and what a legend Kelsey is. So knowledgeable, so patient, so TALENTED and so generous with her time and treasures. These are our finished products. The group pic on the far left and a close up of mine on the right. Kelsey also showed us all of her own dolls, plus a few she's bought along the way. I was in such awe, that my mouth was open the whole time, with drool coming out of it. What an amazing stash she has. I am so getting into these dolls and have to say that I am very keen to progress to larger dolls. And definitely leaning towards the more arty type dolls than the prettier type dolls.

But I have learnt that I am a very visual person and prefer to go to a class, than to try and nut my way through something like this on my own. Maybe this will change, as I get more confident with beading and sewing. But for now, I would like to continue to go to workshops and learn more. The sculpting of faces really intrigues me.

Dolly's are Finished

My attempt at Art Dolls for Dottee's swap (see Dot's link on side of page) are finally finished! These are my very first Doll's ever, so I do hope that those that receive these back in the swap, are pleased with them. My preference is the green doll and in reflection, would have liked to have done them all in this colour.

I am going to a Doll Class at my friend Kelsey's next weekend, so am really looking forward to that. I am really enjoying doing these little beauties, although I'm not sure if I am any "good" at it. But hopefully the more I do, the better I will get. I would like to progress to the larger Art Dolls one day (a long way down the track obviously!). The kind where you skulpt their faces and make beautiful dresses for them. I am no sewer, so this would be the ultimate challenge for me creatively speaking. Funny I've never been the slightest bit interested in sewing until now. My mother tried very hard when I was a young girl to encourage me to sew (she is very very good at sewing) and also my sister, but neither of us, were the slightest bit interested. Yet my niece is very keen. So funny how it seemed to skip a generation.. LOL
